BEC Begins Site Mobilisation for the Talin LNG Project

Delivering world-class LNG civil works to support Taiwan’s energy future

Balanced Engineering & Construction (BEC) has officially commenced site mobilisation for the Talin LNG Project, where BEC is delivering the civil works for two 180,000 kL LNG cryogenic tanks for CTCI and IHI at the CPC Kaohsiung Intercontinental LNG Terminal. This mobilisation marks a major milestone as BEC expands its footprint in LNG infrastructure and large-scale civil works in Taiwan.

Mobilisation Activities Underway

Over the past few weeks, BEC’s Taiwan team has progressed key mobilisation activities essential for a safe and efficient construction phase.

Site & Off-site Facilities Established

  • Off-site offices and accommodation set up just 20 minutes from the project site
  • Delivery and installation of site offices and storage containers in progress
  • First operational workspaces established, including Project Manager Paul Wang settling into the new site office (pictured below)

These preparations create the foundation for streamlined operations as major civil works commence.

Strategic Partnership with PERI Taiwan

BEC is proud to collaborate with PERI Taiwan, a global leader in formwork and scaffolding solutions. PERI’s engineering expertise and proven systems will play a crucial role in the safe and efficient delivery of this landmark LNG project.

Together with PERI, BEC is finalising the wall formwork design, and fabrication of the LNG tank wall formwork is now underway, an important early milestone in the project schedule.

Technical Progress: Mass Concrete Trials Begin

On the engineering side, BEC has commenced:

  • Concrete mix design development
  • Trial testing for mass concrete works

These tests ensure the structural integrity and performance required for LNG cryogenic tanks and confirm compliance with project specifications, durability standards, and thermal performance requirements.

The Talin LNG Project is part of Taiwan’s long-term strategy to meet future energy demand and support its net-zero vision for 2050. BEC’s scope reinforces our position as a leading provider of LNG civil works, with a strong track record of delivering complex energy infrastructure across the region.

This project builds on BEC’s trusted relationship with CTCI Corporation, Taiwan’s leading EPC contractor, and aligns with the nation’s broader transition to reliable and cleaner energy infrastructure.
