Balanced Engineering & Construction (BEC) has been recognised by China Harbour (Singapore) Engineering Company (CHEC) as an Outstanding Partner for Best Safety Performance on Singapore’s Integrated Waste Management Facility (IWMF) project.
The award was presented during a project recognition ceremony attended by key contractors and stakeholders. BEC’s CEO, Eddie Lloyd-Williams, accepted the award on behalf of the company and joined fellow recipients in celebrating the achievement.
Safety-Led Delivery on a Complex Infrastructure Project
BEC’s scope of work on the IWMF project includes the design, fabrication, and installation of internal steelwork for the emission control system, a critical component supporting the facility’s environmental compliance and long-term operational performance.
Delivering this scope safely requires disciplined engineering, detailed planning, and strict adherence to safety protocols across fabrication and site installation activities. Safety considerations were embedded at every stage of the work, from design reviews through to on-site execution.
One of 8 Contractors Recognised from Over 200
This recognition is particularly significant, with Balanced Engineering & Construction selected as one of only eight contractors from more than 200 participants on the project. The Best Safety Award highlights BEC’s consistent commitment to safe work practices, risk management, and collaborative delivery in high-risk industrial environments.
Supporting Singapore’s Sustainable Infrastructure
The Integrated Waste Management Facility is a landmark development supporting Singapore’s long-term sustainability and environmental objectives. BEC is proud to contribute its engineering and construction expertise to a project of national importance, delivering critical works safely, responsibly, and to the highest standards.
