Our framework

ESG Programme

Four strategic priorities where BEC delivers the most meaningful and measurable impact.

People, Safety & Community

Strong safety leadership, training programmes and digital safety systems protect our workforce while employee-led initiatives support the communities where we operate.

Reliability & Performance

Engineering efficiency and material durability are prioritised to minimise risk, reduce maintenance demand, and support lifecycle resource optimisation.

Environmental Impact

Operational resource consumption, emissions performance, and waste management are monitored and improved through process discipline and technology integration.

Governance & Ethics

Robust governance systems, integrity policies, risk management processes, and ethical training support compliance and stakeholder confidence.

Environmental commitments

Committed to the Science Based Targets Initiative

BEC has committed to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), aligning our emissions reduction targets with climate science and supporting the global ambition of the Paris Agreement to limit warming to 1.5°C.

Through this commitment, BEC will develop and submit science-based greenhouse gas reduction targets covering our operations and value chain. These targets will align with the SBTi framework for limiting global warming and supporting the transition to a low-carbon economy.
