BEC Completes Critical Chimney Maintenance at Limay Power Plant

Limay Power Plant Philippines Inspection and Maintenance

BEC has successfully completed Phase 1 maintenance and repair work on the environmental compliance chimney of the Limay Power Plant in the Philippines.

Expert Maintenance for Long-Term Reliability

During the routine inspection, early-stage signs of deterioration were identified, including superficial cracks, concrete chipping, and insulation damage. While not immediately critical, these issues posed long-term risks to efficiency, environmental compliance, and structural integrity if left unaddressed.

BEC was engaged to deliver a complete engineering solution, which included:

  • Structural concrete restoration and hairline crack sealing
  • Repair of damaged insulation on MacAlloy bars
  • Cleaning and organising of cable trays and internal slabs
  • Recoating of weathered paint surfaces
  • Evaluation and correction of previous patchwork

All work was executed across multiple elevations, from internal platforms to the top of the chimney at ~100 meters.

Ensuring Safe, Compliant, and Efficient Operation

With all repairs completed on time and to standard, the Limay Power Plant is now back online with reinforced structural integrity and restored operational reliability. BEC’s expert team delivered a comprehensive solution that minimised future risk and extended the asset’s service life.
