After a lifetime of building tall and complex structures and an extraordinary career with BEC, Flan Maher, our Regional Construction Manager, has retired.
Flan’s contribution to the company and the wider industry is nothing short of remarkable. A master of structural steelwork, vertical structures, demolition, and repair, his deep expertise in heavy lifting, welding, slip forming, and advanced construction methods has shaped power stations, refineries, and so many of the critical assets we see across the region today.
Among his many titles, he earned one that stuck: “King of the Slides”, a nod to his unmatched expertise in slipforming and vertical construction. But beyond the technical skill was a leader who knew his equipment as well as he knew his people. Someone whose sharp eye for detail and steady hand helped drive our operations to a level of excellence we’re proud of.
Flan leaves a legacy of mentorship, craftsmanship, and dedication that spans decades.
