Balanced Engineering & Construction (BEC) is a leading engineering and construction company specialising in the design and build of vertical structures within the energy infrastructure sector. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Quality Control Engineer to ensure our projects meet the highest standards of safety, compliance, and performance. This role is critical in coordinating quality assurance and control activities, liaising with clients, and ensuring smooth communication between all project stakeholders.
About the Project:
BEC has been awarded the civil works for two LNG storage tanks at the new Kaohsiung Intercontinental LNG Terminal in Taiwan. This high-profile project will strengthen Taiwan’s clean energy infrastructure by expanding LNG storage and regasification capacity. Our scope includes foundations, structural works, and related site infrastructure, all delivered to world-class safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Coordination & Reporting
- Report to the Project Manager and coordinate with the Site Manager on all quality control matters.
- Provide clear, regular communication to the project team on quality control (QC) matters, project quality plans, and compliance requirements.
- Coordinate with relevant parties to prepare and maintain documentation such as Procedure Qualification Records, Manufacturer’s Data Records (MDR), method statements, and welding specifications.
- Coordinate with vendors and subcontractors on incoming material specifications and conduct incoming material inspections.
- Coordinate inspections including non-destructive examinations and laboratory tests.
- Submit weekly progress reports to the Project Manager or head office.
Inspection & Quality Assurance
- Coordinate QA/QC documentation on inspections and activities with QA/QC Engineers, vendors, subcontractors, and laboratories.
- Undertake site and off-site inspections to identify quality issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor welding works, galvanizing, painting, and insulation for compliance with specifications.
- Ensure compliance with codes, standards, and project-specific quality inspection plans.
Client & Stakeholder Relations
- Maintain strong relationships with clients, site managers, engineers, and subcontractors to resolve quality issues promptly.
- Liaise with clients on the implementation of the Inspection and Test Plan (ITP) and participate in control point inspections.
- Attend client meetings to discuss QA/QC progress and issues.
Safety & Compliance
- Strictly follow safety regulations and ensure all work meets safety requirements, legislation, and agreed methods of work.
- Promote safety, quality, and productivity in all activities.
Additional Duties
- Assist head office with quality audits during project execution.
- Perform any other tasks assigned by management.

We’re looking for a quality control engineer who takes pride in delivering high-quality work, thrives in a collaborative environment, and is ready to take ownership of quality on some of Taiwan’s most exciting infrastructure projects.
Ideally, you will bring:
- A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Experience in quality control within construction or engineering projects.
- A good understanding of QA/QC procedures, non-destructive inspection methods, and relevant codes/standards.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with people from diverse disciplines.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to safety and excellence.
