Structural Steel Floor Beams Installation Taichung U2

Looking up inside the second hexagonal chimney stack at Taichung Combined-cycle gas fired power plant

Structural steel floor beam installation at the Taichung Unit 2 chimney in Taiwan has reached a significant milestone, with the 105-metre level now complete.

As part of the new combined cycle gas plant, this structure will support cleaner and more efficient power generation for Taiwan. The newly installed floor beams will form the foundation for platforms designed to hold critical equipment and provide essential access ways within the chimney.

The project began at the very top with the roof beam at 135 metres, followed by the recent completion of the 105-metre beam. Next on the schedule is the 77-metre floor, currently being assembled and prepared for lifting into position.

Each stage of the project requires meticulous planning, precise execution, and the combined expertise of Balanced Engineering & Construction’s (BEC) engineering and construction teams. These efforts ensure that every element is delivered to the highest safety and quality standards.

BEC is proud to contribute to this important energy project, which reflects the company’s commitment to advancing LNG and combined cycle gas power as a key part of the cleaner energy future.
