The devastation caused by Typhoon Yagi has been felt deeply across northern Vietnam, as the most powerful storm to hit the South China Sea in 30 years wreaked havoc on homes and infrastructure. With winds of up to 150 km/h, the typhoon left a trail of destruction, displacing families and cutting off access to critical infrastructure, leaving thousands stranded and in urgent need of assistance. Communities are now facing a long and difficult recovery process.
As a company that values the communities we work in, BEC is committed to stepping up in times of need. In partnership with the management and staff of Puku Café and Sports Bar, Hanoi, we have donated essential items, including drinking water, food, and basic toiletries, to help support flood victims during this critical time.
The appreciation from the community was truly heartwarming. As Richard Shearman, BEC’s Vietnam Country Manager, put it: “The supplies we delivered may seem small in the grand scheme, but the welcome we received was huge.”
BEC has always believed that our work is more than just construction and engineering—it’s about building relationships and contributing positively to the lives of those around us. Our team is dedicated to ensuring that our projects have a lasting, positive impact, and this commitment includes extending a helping hand in moments of crisis.
We are proud to support the relief efforts in Vietnam and will continue to keep the affected communities in our thoughts as they rebuild. Together, we can face this challenge and emerge stronger.
