BEC has reached a significant construction milestone on its ongoing energy infrastructure project in Taichung, Taiwan. The team has successfully completed 50% of the windshield slipforming for the second 150-meter hexagonal chimney, which forms part of the 2 × 1300 MW Taichung Combined Cycle Power Plant.
Key project statistics at this stage include:
75 meters of vertical slipforming completed
3,470 cubic meters of concrete placed
A chimney structure designed to meet both performance requirements and environmental compliance standards
Progress is also advancing on the first chimney, where windshield slipforming is now complete. Current works are focused on the installation of the liner can, along with associated insulation and cladding, which are critical for thermal performance and long-term durability.
This milestone reflects BEC’s commitment to delivering complex power infrastructure through engineering excellence, safety, and strategic collaboration.
BEC extends appreciation to its engineers, partners, and local stakeholders for their essential contributions to the project’s ongoing success.
