Balanced Engineering & Construction (BEC) engineered and delivered a fully integrated access and lifting system to safely execute liner replacement inside a large-diameter emissions stack, transforming a complex, manual process into a controlled, repeatable operation.
Executing maintenance within a confined vertical structure required overcoming multiple high-risk constraints:
BEC developed an integrated access and handling solution to enable safe and efficient liner replacement within a constrained circular structure at Al-Zour Power & Water Distillation Station, Kuwait. The scope included the design and installation of a custom circular platform to provide continuous internal access, combined with an overhead rail and hoist system for controlled lifting of liner plates.
As part of the works, the concrete windshield also underwent cleaning and repainting to restore surface condition and support long-term durability.
BEC’s integrated system fundamentally changed how the work was executed, replacing complex manual handling with a controlled, repeatable process that improved safety, increased efficiency, and ensured consistent, reliable outcomes.
